Everything has a heartbeat in some way. Mother Nature is no different… the beating of the grass as a burst of wind rolls over it, the fuzzy way the sky seems to appear at twilight, and the vibrant and mesmirizing way how the blur of a bed of flowers in the heat of the summer can project itself between the diachotomy of the blues of the skies and the greens of the earth. In painting my Heartbeat series I want to marry those sultry summer evenings with the child like elation of chasing fireflies and not having a care in the world.
